Ileen Oshell: Yes that was the very first X-Men comic book. Note some familiar characters: Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast (before he got furry), Iceman (Bobby Drake), and Angel (Warren Worthington III). All of them have appeared in the movies. Not to mention Magneto that they are facing against -- a more 2 dimensional character back then (like Dr Doom to their Fantastic Five).Since these comics are all super expensive and hard to find (and I don't know who has scanned them to read online (and avoided copyright issues). So you should probably read the back story on Wikipedia or a comic book-dedicated wiki source and then hopefully you have the "cliff notes" background to allow you to get into whichever point in the series you can access....Show more
