What does a references "title" mean?

Gaston Edgcomb: Do you mean your "reference's" [with an apostrophe] title? If so, it means the job title of the person you're listing as your reference. For example, if you are listing a former college professor as one of your references that you want the employer to contact to find out how smart and wonderful you are, you'd put "Professor of Business Administration" or whatever her job title is as the answer to this.
