marketing 101?

Mark Hovanes: marketing creates brand equity with sets the particular brand apart from the competition... if done correctly the product in question will be able to charge more based on the associated value.

Bruno Galasso: I think marketing adds PERCEIVED value. The purpose of marketing is to make the public want your product. This is done by making your product appear to fill a need -- and hence be valuable to the consumer.

Alden Sabio: It is perceived value, but it also add REAL value. How something is marketing effectively will determine ultimately what price will be asked. For example- generic doll with assorted outfits, not worth much. Cost about $3.Special edition BARBIE- marketed with the BARBIE name for a limited time only, some get upwards of $50-100 for collectors. Same thing happened with tickle me elmo, cabbage patch dolls, etc. How it was marketed created the desire in the public to have that item. Suddenly there weren't enough to go around and t! he price continued to drive up....Show more

Patricia Bolduc: lets take coke and pepsi for instance......if coke does a marketing campaign with a celeb that you like then they are adding the value of the celebrity to coke and not to pepsi
