Emeline Albracht: For civilian flying (either private or professional) it is normally not a problem to require corrective lenses. I hold a Class 1 (professional flying) medical certificate in Europe and I have restriction to wear glasses (the limitation also means you must have a 2nd spare pair with you when you fly. Provided the correction required is not excessive and there are no additional problems (such as colour blindness) then you should have no problem.I recommend you contact your national aviation authority (or check their website), and they will be able to put you in touch with an aviation medical examiner who can then check you out and let you know for certain....Show more
Krystal Cordovano: One of two ways: it can have an internal starter which operates similar to a car starter. The starter spins the compressor blades and at the designated RPM the JP is sprayed into the combustion chamber, the igniters are actuated and the engine starts. Or, it can hav! e an external air supply (called in the Navy a "huffer") and once the specified RPM is attained, the pilot bumps a switch on the throttle quadrant, the igniters fire and the engine starts. There may be other ways with which I am not familiar....Show more
Dexter Dingus: I already understand how it works in flight but at the start of the flight while it is on the ground and not spinning can someone explain how it starts to spin please?
Johnny Sirko: Another reason for a hinge point towards the front is that the air (or water) flowing over the rudder is trying to move it back to a slipstream position. If it was hinged in the back the force would multiply the further from center you would get. It would be very hard to return to neutral from full deflection without some type of power assistance. The rudder would not stay centered without a stop of some type installed.
Carolynn Testani: If the problem can be solved with lenses then yes, you can probably become a ! pilot. If it cannot be solved adequately, then the most you ca! n hope for is to become a private pilot and fly for fun. A career as a pilot may not be possible.
Merlin Fleischhacker: i can only think of the JSF lab
Percy Seiger:
Ismael Sixon: Electric or pneumatic (air.)In larger aircraft, like commercial airliners, it is always with compressed air. The air can be supplied by an external ground cart, which connects via hoses to a receptacle in the airplane, or the air can be supplied by an Auxillary Power Unit within the aircraft itself. When the pilot presses the engine start switch, a valve opens and compressed air is routed across the inner turbine blades and begins to spin the compressor shaft. When the blades reach a minimum RPM, fuel and spark is added to the engine, causing the engine to spool up to idle RPM and thus completing the start sequence....Show more
Brock Hladik: Search for "Raytheon Voodoo 1"...It's a 727-2 ADV test bed.
Mack Ukich: It is a Douglas DC-3. A propeller-driven aircraft. A! successful plane during the 1930s and 1940s During World War II, many civilian DC-3s were drafted for the war effort and thousands of military versions of the DC-3 were built under the designations C-47 (Air Force), C-53, R4D, and Dakota. The emblem on the tail LOOKS like the 67th Intelligence Wing. It has the correct overall shape, 4 stars in the right place, etc. The wing did start up in the early forties, may have had name and emblem changes, however. This is iffy info. The type plane is a sure thing....Show more
Luther Plagmann: The question is, are you asking if you can receive a pilot's license, become a commercial pilot, or are you asking if you would qualify for a USAF pilot position? The FFA requires you to have "adequate vision" for a private pilot student license. You wouldn't have a problem getting one of those. You may be able to obtain a commercial license depending on the extent of your vision problems. The US armed forces however require vision no wo! rse then 20/70 correctable to 20/20.The first step would be to get your! vision checked! Some eye problems can worsen without treatment. You may have time to correct the problem to an extent that it wouldn't even be of concern! Beast of luck!...Show more
Laveta Fathy: if the nose looked like the engine of an SR71, then it could be a..Mig 21, SU-22, (And all their chinese copies) English Electric Lightningthe SU and the MIG if in historical markign would have red soviet stars....but none of these look like a 727...sorry sir but i am stumped on this...no large transport i know looks like this, unless your talking about testbed aircraft with reshaped noses of other planes for research, eg this 757 with an F22 nose and other parts.http://fineartamerica.com/images-medium/boeing-757......Show more
Erica Bottaro: Could be one of Northrop Grumman's test bed aircraft. Of course they are not as large as a 727 but more like an old corprate jet. If it flew over your car you would know it because they have the old non-hushed turbojet engines. T! hey do fly with a variety of weird noses.here is one of them without red markingshttp://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/photo...or this with the redhttp://img1.eyefetch.com/p/vt/762509-2ee5a463-aee5...They are testing military electronic equipment with these planes....Show more
Carter Edstrom: Sounds like a B-1RD Mod 0 Spec U812.
Delmy Varano: By any chance, did you photograph it?
Carter Edstrom: not a 727 for sure airforce attack plane but unsure of witch one
Cyndy Grimes: Photograph it, that way we'll be able to identify the aircraft.
Logan Bero: If it was white with Red/Orange markings on the wing tips then it was more than likely a military trainer or test craft of some sorts.
Rodrigo Pezley: there was a flying laboratory for the JSF? with the projected nose of the aircraft mounted on some sort of airliner. i doubt you saw THAT, tho.
Dulcie Edis: I am no expert but I do know u need 20/20 vision. Go to a doctor and maybe th! ey can help.
Ricardo Rozelle: I'm guessing you're asking about an! offset hinge. Two reasons. One is to reduce the amount of force required to move the control. The"notch" which is in front of the hinge helps push the surface in the direction you want it to move. The second reason is that it occasionally is needed to reduce flutter or vibration of the control surface.
Catheryn Barringer: I want to become a pilot. But i can not see clearly with my left eye..i have not gone to any doctor yet. Can i become a pilot if i correct my eyesight with a glass or contact lenses????
