Laveta Fathy: It wont make any difference because your power consumption will be the same. If every person does what they say then the heavy load on the system will still exist. Most industry use the most power during the day work periods so before and after regular hours would place less strain on power stations in theory. But "your" use will still be the same.Plus if you dry your clothes on a line outside instead of using a dryer that will save power....Show more
Sharee Doak: I live in what we call hillbillie country and according t! o the old wives tales we hear around here, the best time to do housework or any type of cleaning which laundry should come under is in the Morning. They say that doing it early with help the sheets and linens come out fresher in smell. So that is the old wives tale here. Just for your information.

Raleigh Lufkin: If we use power such as electricity and water on the "Off times" when consumption from business and factorys is not at a high usually before 7am and after 9pm it does save the stress on the load used. I used to live in Pennsylvania and they actually had two rates for charges of power and these were the times. The savings weren't very large but they were different
