How much would it cost to repair a old car?

Alexander Villas: Cost to repair WHAT?

Raymon Fiene: I'm sorry but your question is to vague to be able to answer. Without knowing what kind of car, or what kind of repairs it needs, nobody will be able to even guess. It would be like me asking how much will going to the store cost me? I haven't told you what kind of store, or what I intend on buying.

Amina Motzer: You don't need the picture, what you need to do is post information about the car.First what make and model is the vehicle, next the year (obviously it would cost less if the car is older, but not too old to the point the parts are difficult to find). What parts are missing or requiring repair, how much repair might it need. If you can't provide that information, its like asking how to find my uncle Richard. I don't mean to be a dick of course, and I apologize if I sound like one, it's just there's not any information to even provide an estimate....Show more

Toshia Metzker: have someone tha! t knows what they are doing help with the shopping . Some cars are sold because the owner has found out what it is going to cost to repair them. There are good cars out there and some are cheap but good. I bought an 850$ car from a junk yard that traveled coast to coast and mountain to desert for years with only one incident of needing repair. Make sure you have the steering, suspension and brakes checked out at a shop; most will do it for free but avoid tires plus they often hire not by skill but for how cheap they can get their mechanics and it shows.Have the compression checked on the car and during a test drive take it to Auto Zone or another jobber and they will run a diagnostic on it for free. Don't buy the car because you like the color and dont test drive with the radio on. Advertising for what you want on Craigslist can be helpfull. Some groups/other tech companies badmouth the list but that is because they can't buy it and ruin it.More time checking out the ca! r before purchase will cut down on time under it fixing everyt! hing. Find a mechanic who has earned trust and listen to him....Show more
