Filiberto Amauty: I use ESET smart security. MSE is antivirus/antimalware only and has no firewall, so it is out from comparison.AVG scores quite good in intenet security comparisson as well, though they free version is crap.
Hyo Hardell: AVG IS bad But microsoft security essentials is pretty darn good its great for detections low on resourses and if you have a supious file its easy to send it to microsoft and if it was a virus they update it into MSE Detection base
Rayford Latz: If you use a router (and you should), then you have a hardware firewall already. Otherwise use the software firewall built into Windows since XP. I've used AVG and MSE and Norton. Norton was awful, major resource hog. AVG and MSE were good, but I've settled on Avira (free) in combination with Windows Defender. Consumer Reports magazine tested that combination and found it performed as well as Norton, and used far fewer system resources....Show more
