Marjory Stromme: one of the most important things that a race car has is proper balance, forget power, grip, aerodynamics and all that stuff, if your car in not balanced, you can't take it to the limit. look for a rear wheel drive car to start out with. this will let your platform be extremely adaptable to different types of handling and power. out of all the rear wheel drive cars you are planning on using, look for the widest one with the least overhand over each wheel, this means that the center of gravity is as far inward as possible. You should already know that lower cars handle better so take that into priorities. combine a low ride height with a stiff suspension and you have a car that you can easily take to the limit and have it handle in a predictable fashion. personally, I always recommend this order of modifications for people who want a legitimately fast car however based on your own priorities, this can be changed. 1. Tires, 2. Weight, 3. Brakes, 4. Suspensio! n, 5. Power, 6. Ergonomics, 7. Aerodynamics.Tires are always top priority as a higher coefficient of drag will allow for harder accelerations, cornering, braking and keep you safer on a track. After getting the best tires you can, lower your car's weight as much as you are comfortable with, for a pure track use car take out everything from the interior other than the driver seat. Everything else including door, roof and floor liners, passenger seats, and spare tire increase weight which is undesirable. With a good set of tires and low weight, better brakes will keep you extremely fast on a track as you can stay on the power longer allowing you to make up time right before corners. a similar effect happens with a good suspension, you get to slow down less for corners helping you maintain your speed and get back on the gas earlier. With the critical areas of a track covered, you can upgrade power by changing up engine components, gearbox and differential. engine components gi! ve raw power, a better gearbox and clutch will let you use tha! t power better and a differential will help you maintaining power down through corners helping out handling as well. ergonomics are an important part of high performance driving, if you are always thinking about how uncomfortable you are, you will never reach 100%. a good racing seat, position setting and steering wheel will let you maximize your own potential in your car.I generally never really recommend aerodynamic upgrades as street speed driving will never really develop downforce but drag is always present. for a pure track car, aerodynamics actually matter and a combination of front splitter, rear wing and slick body will minimize drag as much as possible while at the same time maintaining a proper balance while at high speeds (too much downforce at the back and none at the front will make a car handle poorly at high speeds) you should check out cars that are used in formula drift, though you personally might not like drifting, those cars have proven themselves to ha! ve good balance and in general, relatively easy upgrade-ability. I typically don't recommend AWD cars for people that want a car to have fun on as donuts and other fun shenanigans take a lot higher speeds to achieve making them more dangerous, even an old, automatic, rear wheel drive Mercedes will do a burnout and donuts but AWD increases traction so much that those stunts now become dangerous to do. I really like the Honda S2000, Nissan 240sx and 350z and Hyundai Genesis Coupe. If you want a new car, a Scion FR-S is great. if you really just want to drag race, you can skip the suspension priority and focus more on weight and power. this makes the Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang good cars as they have large engines that support a lot of modification to develop a lot of power. and if you can avoid it, never get an automatic, they are heavier, less direct and slower....Show more

Madie Strople: Your best bet is to choose one of the more popular tuner cars, that way more options will be available to you. Depending on year I'd look at Lancer and Imprezza first, then maybe civic or mazda3. Of course, if muscle is more your style than Mustang is where it's at - much better than gm or dodge for these mods....Show more
Clay Lipira: For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/zahPRRicer is a mix ed term which means cars from Asia to cars which have been badly modifed. An Import car is a car which has been imported now again this term mixes up as people call a Asian car an import even if it was made in that country whilst other countries call it an import if it was shipped from! outside the country, alsoan import can mean a Ferrari or Lambo etc which was shipped as an import. Tuner car not to be mixed up with a modified car and it more often does,a tuner car is a car which offers a tunable engine which is sold below its true running power We see this from cars like the Chaser to the Skyline IE the Skyline GTR sold at 280bhp although was more like 330bhp,detuned but true running power of these cars with stock internals is close to 600bhp and with mods well over 1000bhp,now this breaks it away from a modified car as well as many companies sold these cars detuned and allowed for more power to be added to them so there brakes suspension and boxes can take more power figures before they need upgrading as many already have parts which happily see increased power figures, another difference is you will get people saying spending a fortune on those cars but this and that which is cheaper and you get more power, again a tuner engine is detuned so simple mods ! release more power and offer great power gains,i have seen friends spen! d next to nothing on there tuner cars and they see 800bhp figures on a budget mixed with great handling and car looks. Modified cars and cars which can gain some impressive power figures but more mods are needed and often engines see less power figures than a tuner engine and cost more and not always last as long due to them running harder but there are good examples out there running good figures and running hard,as with tuner cars bodykits etc can be added for style and for being practical some folks get it right and some get it wrong. Also against a tuner car often other parts like brakes etc need upgrades quicker that a tuner car if more power is added as less limits where added to these vehicles. Muscle cars a few have answered great cars also and not to get stuck in the Muscle vs Tuner as a car is a car and you get fast and slow models of each and often those whom compare use detuned tuner car figures against high bhp muscle car figures are add a modified car against a! tuner car to compare power too. how to learn books forums internet sites and attending meets and car shows. Auto and manual again do not get stuck into the manuals are more fun,it all depends on the car and its setups else we could say a manual 1.0L MPV is faster than a automatic Ferrai Enzo,it all comes to the setup i have driven slow and fast manuals and i have driven slow and fast auto's,and after all automatic comes in many forms which all differ and do not feel the same and vary per vehicle, after all we see a mix of trans in the Ferrai F430 Porsche 911 turbo tiptronic BMW M3 DB9 Merc Mclaren F1 cars auto drag cars and so one all differ in trans from a standard stick and ofttenmany are auto do to there rapid changes which is faster than can be done manually and a many offer extra control buttons to alter when the box changes and differents modes from town to sports etc. So stick does not make the cars faster it depends on that car, people believe sticks are faster yet n! ever driven all the auto setups as as said how can you compare a stick ! on most cars to the trans on a Veryron....Show more
